Why does every energy solution always make more money for the oil corporations?

I vote for Obama's energy policy where he will invest $150B into developing ALL FORMS of alternative energy.

This will create jobs here in America, eliminate oil dependency, stop the trade imbalance, stop pollution in the air and in our drinking water.

Of course the ';Conservatives'; will be against this since this is a conservative policy and the ';conservatives'; are actually anti-conservatives.Why does every energy solution always make more money for the oil corporations?
McCain flip-flops whenever it becomes politically expedient to change his mind. For such an environmentalist and maverick in he's party he's really turned out to be a hypocrite and a coward. It's not going to have huge longterm effects except on the environment. Even if the US drilled all over the country we'd only have 2-3% of the needed national supply.

McCain needs to stop pretending to be an environmentalist. McCain has a 0 rating while Obama has a 96 from The Conservation Society. If he was a such an environmentalist he wouldn't support offshore drilling and the gas tax holiday which would increase carbon emissions.

Drilling will only cause prices to go down about a nickel over the next decade at the best. It's not going to have huge longterm effects except on he environment. Even if the US drilled all over the country we'd only have 2-3% of the needed national supply. We can't depend on oil. We have to find alternative sources of energy. Why does every energy solution always make more money for the oil corporations?
You have confused yourself, totally. Mr. Obama does not know squat about energy or sound energy policy. $150 billion is taxpayer money. There is no guarantee that such research will amount to anything.

Your first question is wrong. Solar energy, wind energy, hydro-electric power, hydrogen power, electric vehicle are all being developed and are in use. Oil companies do not profit from any of these sources.

Your second paragraph amounts to whistling in the wind. None of your opinions have merit.

Don't confuse the word conservative with ';conservationist.'; I am a conservative. I am in favor of developing and using all sources of energy. I am in favor of making efficient use of energy. I am totally opposed to allowing our government to run the show.

The US government causes problems when it interferes in the private sector. Regulation causes additional expense and slows down progress.
Great question.

Simple answer - GREED!

We are told in the UK that prices are going up because of the price of oil and food, as if to say ';Oh thats OK then';.

The bottom line is that between oil and food coming out of the ground, and being sold to consumers, greedy people are extorting as much money as possible.

Its just Corporate and Governmental highway robbery, and in view of the fact that Corporations and Governments are lining their pockets, individually and collectively we will continue to be screwed.

Forget ';International trade';, ';World economy'; and all the other terms way above our understanding, its just propaganda.
Because the corporations run our government - import goods are not inspected adequately, food is not inspected adequately, it's all to enhance profitability.

Hope y'all are enjoying your free markets......
